Participant Agreement – Variablegrid Demand Response Pilot Program

This Agreement is entered into between Variablegrid Adaptive Power Inc. (“Variablegrid”) and the undersigned individual (“Participant”) as of the date signed below.

1. Purpose
The Participant agrees to take part in Variablegrid’s Demand Response Pilot Program
(the “Program”) in partnership with BC Hydro, by allowing temporary pauses in electric
vehicle (EV) charging during peak electricity demand periods (“Event Periods”) to help
reduce grid load.

2. Program Details
• Event Periods may occur during BC Hydro-designated peak demand days
between 6:00 AM and 10:00 PM, lasting up to 4 continuous hours.
• Participants will receive event notice no later than 5:00 PM on the day before
each Event Period.
• A maximum of 20 Event Periods may occur per Event Season (Winter 2025–2026
and Winter 2026–2027), with no more than 2 per day, and no more than 5
consecutive days in any rolling 7-day period.
• During Event Periods, Variablegrid will implement demand reduction by
controlling the participant’s EV charger. Participants may opt out of any Event by
continuing to charge or disabling remote control during the Event Period.

3. Compensation
• Participants will receive a $30 gift card per season, based on the measured
energy reduction, as determined by BC Hydro at the end of each season.
• Compensation is tied to the amount of energy saved during Event Periods.
• Gift cards will be issued by Variablegrid after BC Hydro completes its seasonal
evaluation.

4. Data and Privacy
Participant consents to the sharing of anonymized usage data with BC Hydro for
Program evaluation. No personal information will be disclosed.

5. Term and Termination
This Agreement is effective on the date signed and will continue through March 31,
2027, unless terminated earlier by either party with written notice. There is no penalty
for early withdrawal.

6. General
Participation does not affect carbon credit eligibility. This Agreement is governed by the
laws of British Columbia.
